On behalf of the Ghana Army, I have the honour to warmly welcome you to the second edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEC 2024).

This strategic land forces event will be held at the Burma Hall, Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters in Accra from 28-29 August 2024, and will feature a two-day conference and exhibition, during which land forces, National Security Agencies, Defence & Interior Ministries, Law Enforcement Agencies, Special Forces and Stakeholders from around the globe will gather to deliberate on Africa’s security threats.

Under the carefully selected theme of ‘Enhancing Regional Mechanisms for Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges in Africa’, the Conference aims at creating a platform for fruitful exchanges and discussions to identify new avenues in strengthening international partnerships and collaborations to improve land forces operations and curtail the ripple effects of asymmetrical threats on national security stemming from terrorism and military coups in neighbouring states. The Exhibition will showcase state-of-the-art technologies and solutions tailored at improving military operations of African Land Forces to better equip them in the fight against emerging global security and economic threats.

The assembly of the Chiefs of Army from African and non-African nations positions IDEC 2024 as the foremost gathering of land forces, national security agencies and key solution providers in Africa.

About IDEC 2024

The 2nd International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEC) hosted by Ghana Army in Accra will build upon the endeavours of African Army to enhance combined capabilities to counter the continent’s leading security challenges. This unparalleled event will showcase the importance of integrating strategies and solutions to solve challenges such as extremism, terrorism and cross-border crime in this region.

The overarching objective of IDEC 2024 is to improve regional development and security by promoting civil/ defence partnership, both regionally and internationally. Through a series of unique platforms, the two-day event aims to assemble Africa’s Chiefs of Army and senior officers and executives, as well as security agencies and global partners and advanced solution providers to improve combined combat operations and regional development initiatives.
